Turning Celeb Names into Korean: Emily Blunt, Post Malone, and Jenna Ortega

Hello everyone, welcome.

Today we're going to have some fun learning about Korean language and culture with a special challenge.

This time, we're going to take familiar foreign names and turn them into cool Korean names!

We'll explore the meaning and vibe behind each name to see which Korean name fits the best. It's going to be a fun and creative way to give someone a personalized Korean name.

When you hear the surname Blunt, you might think of the Korean surname 반(Ban) because they sound similar. The surname Ban is pretty rare in Korea, which makes it feel unique

Now, let’s move on to the first name. In Korea, names are super important because they often represent hopes or wishes for that person’s life. It’s not just about the name itself, but about what kind of life you hope they’ll live. So, when we adapt foreign names into Korean, we like to keep that meaning in mind.

The name Emily comes from the Latin word Aemilia, meaning ‘rival’ or ‘hard worker’. So, Emily is all about someone who’s super dedicated and works hard to reach her goals. She’s gentle but determined, warm, and kind. Plus, Emily gives off major vibes of someone who’s passionate, super focused, and strong on the inside, while still being totally graceful.

With all this in mind, what Korean name fits Emily the best?

We’ve chosen the name 은미(Eun-mi)!

Eun-mi means ‘someone who understands and helps others’, which highlights Emily’s warm and caring personality. It’s a beautiful and fitting name for Emily, especially for someone born in 1983.

Post Malones real name is Austin Richard Post, but today we’re going to create a Korean name for his stage name. 😊

First, lets look at the last name Malone. In Korean, a similar-sounding last name would be 마(Ma), which is super rare, making it feel unique and special. Since Ma isnt common in Korea, someone as unique as Post Malone.

Now, for ‘Post’. While Post is actually part of Post Malone’s real name, Austin Richard Post, we’re going to use the meaning of Post itself to create a Korean name.

The wordPost’ can mean something strong and sturdy, like a pillar. So, using that idea, we came up with a cool Korean name that matches both the sound and the meaning: 한호(Han-ho)!

Han-ho means ‘a brave person, like a strong tiger’. Wow, a name with the strength and boldness of a tiger is perfect for Post Malones unique and powerful image. Can you picture his confidence and bravery on stage? This name totally captures his energy and charisma.

Now, in Korea, Post Malone becomes Ma Han-ho. Its a strong and special name, right? 😄

First, let’s find a Korean surname that matches Ortega. Ortega comes from Spanish and is inspired by nature. A Korean surname with a similar sound is 오(Oh). Interestingly, most people in Korea with the surname Oh are currently concentrated in areas known for their beautiful natural scenery. Ortega’s connection to nature and the Oh surname fit perfectly, don’t you think? 😜

Next, let’s take a look at the name Jenna. Jenna has various origins, but it generally means ‘blessed’, ‘heaven’, or ‘paradise’. To capture this beautiful meaning in a Korean name, we’ve chosen 재은(Jae-eun)!

Jae-eun means ‘a person full of grace’ or ‘someone who has accumulated great wealth’. It gives the sense that everything will go well, the world will help them, and they’ll get what they want. It’s a name that represents a life full of success and good fortune.

So, Jenna Ortega is now reborn in Korea as Oh Jae-eun. How cool is that? A name that holds the power of nature and a blessed life—super charming, right? 😄

And who knows, if Emily Blunt, Post Malone, or Jenna Ortega ever see this, we hope they love their new Korean names. 🎁
